That's awesome. Do more! The computer setup sounds ideal. Can you possibly do one that takes shots with long shutter speeds? For example, if you were doing a time lapse of a street using long shutter speeds (with appropriate filter/iso/iris for exposure of course) the pictures would leave out fast moving objects like cars, and you could get a timelapse of the scene without the human commotion. I think that would be interesting just to see a vista change over time. Of course seeing the little blinks of activity is also neat, but what I just described I haven't seen anybody do.

How fun! A few of my friends are getting married this weekend and are going the cheap route, so they asked me to take their photos--quite a task considering I don't even own a digital SLR. And the lighting for where they're getting married is dreadful. Much to my relief, they told me the other day someone else would have that duty. Whew!

Glad to see you had fun with this.

The bike ride was to protest big oil. They were trying to promote healthy exercise at the same time. The event organizers said the "nudity" was to make people comfortable with their body image. I think it was really just to get attention. That worked!

Wow. That's quite an event. The video said it started in Spain, but what exactly is the point of it? Maybe that was covered and I missed it, but why do all these folks hope on bikes and ride around in their undies?

I liked the use of stills and videos. Shots from the bike ride itself are pretty cool.

BTW, I don't know how you want me to comment on your journalism photos. I can look at it like a cinematographer: I like that top picture's compositiona and depth of field, but that bright orange shirt is extremely distracting from the focus and the mood of the picture. But of course, I know that as an objective cameraman you have little control over the canvas itself. So I will probably not comment too much on photos in that way. I will comment on the emotional impact of what you have captured. But just let me know what kind of feedback you want.

Yes, being tough skinned is key for us media people. You, especially, as a journalist, since you deal so much with John-Q in touchy situations.

Wow. That is quite a story. I'm sure Betsey would love to hear that you still remember some of those important tidbits from her class.

I also looked at some of your photos of the candlelight vigil. Those turned out pretty good, too. Had you covered other vigils or memorial services before? Do you ever encounter problems with people not wanting you to be there, since it can be such a personal and emotional experience?
